Living in such fast paced times, where everything seems to be about how fast you can get somewhere or do something, I've realized that I truly need to remind myself to "stop" and take a look at what is around me, lest I miss it.
In the morning, before I get the kids up for school...I spend a moment a watch the sun rise over the mountains in the distance, or I'll stop to watch the birds as they go about their morning business.
Back in April, my family and I were fortunate enough to be able to take a much anticipated and deserved vacation. One of our stops was the Grand Canyon. If ever there was a time to just STOP and take in the beauty and appreciate the awesomeness of God and Nature's creation...it's here, in this place. It's simply breathtaking, and no where else have I ever felt such a moment where the need to just Thank God for his blessings and gifts was so intense. This mighty canyon, in all it's greatness, holds such natural beauty.
So today, after you've gone to church, or cleaned house, or just ran errands. Remember to stop and take in the gift of the beauty that is around you. There is much to behold and to appreciate.
Have a wonderful day.
Remember that half the joy of achievement is in the anticipation.

Isn't America great, honey?!?!? I love looking at all the pix of this wonderful country. I've lived in the desert - different places, Arizona, Calif. and now Idaho - and I can attest to how beautiful it actually is! There's a stark beauty there especially in the spring when everything is in bloom. Just love it and so glad you got to visit Grand Canyon.
Come see my desk redo and let me give ya a giggle, sweet chickee!! LOL
Beautifully stated Rechelle. I like to just step out onto my deck and "look" at the backyard. There is really nothing to see...yet so much to see.
Oh, and this time of the year when the leaves are changing color the view outside is just glorious!!
Thank you for this timely reminder to enjoy the world about us...
Thanks for the reminder Rechelle, I so often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that I forget to appreciate my surroundings.
Yes...there is so much to Stop and see in this world...the leaves are so beautiful here. We took a walk tonight:) and I should have taken the camera along..
This is a breathtaking view! I would love to one day see the grand canyon. God is the great artist. I love seeing his handiwork in all of creation. It's amazing. I love being in nature and I loved being in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park back in 2006. I will never forget the natural beauty that was all around that place. I remember just thanking God that I got the pleasure of seeing it. I know that the Grand Canyon was a wonderful trip for you and your family...I can only imagine. Hope you have a great week!
