True Colors

Well I've finally decided on the color palette for the kitchen. Originally I had thought a nice sage color, but the more I think about it the more I like this. It's called Wickerware by Behr. It will be on the upper half of the kitchen walls and there will be bead board on the lower half.

From my kitchen to the service porch (laundry room/pantry) there are bi-fold doors. These will be painted Farmhouse Red. I love red!

Here's a shot of the crown molding I'm thinking about for the upper cabinets. I think I may head back to Home Depot and pick out a molding that is similar to what I have in my dining area. These areas are completely separated so they wouldn't compete with each other, but I think I might want a more cohesive look for the whole house. We'll see. I've still lots of time and work to do before I even get to place the first piece of molding. The molding, trim, cabinets, and ceiling will be painted pure white. I think I'll do the crown in a high gloss pure white though and the ceiling in a semi gloss, that way there will be a contrast between the ceiling and molding.

Love the colors Rechelle. I've always wanted a red formal dining room, so I understand why you want to use the red. Can't wait to see pics of the finished project.

Love the colors you have set Rechelle! I can not wait to see how the kitchen pulls together!! I think a dark countertop would pop just the way you want it too, even in a small space! GL choosing that!

Adore the colors - we used to have a bright red in our kitchen and I miss it so much! The yellow you've picked reminds me of the yellow we haev in the house so of course I love that. :-)

out blog hopping. I love bead board! I want to put it up on the bottom of the walls in my kitchen, but I had white cabinets and trim and doors...I'm afraid I'll end up with too much white. I have butter yellow walls. Can't wait to see your progress on your kitchen!

I love your ideas for the kitchen. The labels are fab and that molding is perfect.
Just my two cents tho, we always do ceilings in flat... or if need be an eggshell in the bathrooms. It will make your ceilings look higher too and hides any imperfections.
These colors are very similar to my kitchen!
