Laundry room-Functional Accessories

So yesterday I shared my desire to find something to hold my laundry detergent that was not just functional but "nice". I think I found my solution.

I shopped the house and found this pretzel container in my bedroom that I'd stored away last year. I vaguely remember darling hubby saying he wanted to keep it so he could fill it up with change. Too bad! I got it first! (lol!)

Before...
Soaked it in some warm water so
I could easily remove the labels.

I Washed it up, let it dry and...
Got my trusty letters...

How's this?
I'm still not sure if I like the letters or not.
For now, I'll live with it and
if I decide I don't want them,
they are very easy
to remove.

Now I'm on the look out
for an old tin measuring cup.

This is what I call Functional Accessories. Looks great and adds character to the "room" and actually has a purpose aside from looking "good".

Hi Rechelle, love your idea of the plastic container for soap detergent. I have one of these saved somewhere too, knowing I could use it for something someday!
Thanks for the idea....

You are one clever woman, Rechelle! I love how you don't spend anything (or next to nothin') doing these things☺

That is a great idea. I use liquid detergent for my front loader machine so I don't see myself doing something like this for my laundry room. If I still used powder I probably would.

What a great idea. I love how it turned out.

Just came across your blog today and am enjoying reading all your past posts. Also added you to my followers list because I can't wait to see what you do next that makes my think "wow, how clever".

Rechelle,
Thanks for visiting. I'm ok, just so busy at work trying to keep a job. I'm self supporting you know. I have been trying out the new camera though and making posts out of the pictures I've taken. Thanks for checking on me. Read your past posts and have to say I am truly amazed at how great your ideas are. You've got the decorating knack girl, and I hope I can be as good as you someday. I just need the time to do it all. :) Maybe by the time I retire ... which I hope will be soon before they wear me all the way down. Don't worry, I'll NEVER let that happen. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Take care of you. xxoo

That looks great and I like the letters! I was looking back through your older posts and I like the pictures you created with paper too! I saw that you have a ranch style home, just thought I'd tell ya that's what my house is too, when it grows up it wants to be a big farm house with a wrap around porch, LOL.

Evening, Rechelle! Oh, I like that big jar and I love how it looks with the letters! I think you did a great job. I found some clear big ole jars at Walmart and put my detergent in them. I always used the liquid and then I started seeing how cute the powder was in these jars and changed!
Have a blessed Easter,
Shelia:)

Hey thanks for leaving me a comment :) This is a great idea! You know I think I have the same jar but ours is still full of pretzels lol. We got ours from Costco of course, I don't know where else to find a giant jar of pretzels :) Now I have a great use for it once we've eaten them all!

All the best,
Allison

Oh yes... I have one and I'm doing it. I have been looking around for other ideas for my laundry room but this is too cool. I love it. And you have below liquid detergent in a glass bottle I was thinking fabric softener but I don't use it as much, however, I need an idea for my fabric sheets that I put in the dryer. Thanks girl, this is cool.

I love the jar, I think it's darling! I would soo put some type of knob on the top of the lid, to bling it up a bit more, too!
