My first Pink Saturday...

Beverly at How Sweet the Sound is the gracious hostess of Pink Saturday. Be sure to pay her a visit.
Being that this is my very first "Pink Saturday", I wanted to pick something special, as well as near and dear to my heart. I've picked two things to share with you.

This is one of my vintage tablecloths. I love the print on the cloth and like to think about the stories it could share if it could only speak to me. This particular cloth was a birthday present from my eldest daughter and her special beau. This is part of my china tea set collection. I've only taken down a few pieces.
I've shared the story before, but I'll share it again (humor me). My mother used to have this china tea set. After three major earthquakes, hardly anything survived from the original set. When my mom passed, the remainder of the set was passed to me. I've been adding to the existing pieces and although I know it's not the "original" set that was Mom's, looking at the dainty cups & pot, reminds me of her and the times we would share. Imagine being eight years old, sitting at the dining room table, which we only did for special occasions, and sharing a moment with mom...She'd have tea and I'd have hot chocolate. I remember thinking how special I felt. Not only because I was sitting at the dining room table, but because I was sipping from the special china too. Thank you Mom. Thank you for that special moment and for giving me an everlasting memory.

Rechelle, I so glad you resolved your computer issues. Don't feel bad, it happens to all of us sometime, and we all know how frustrating it is.

Welcome to Pink Saturday. I love your first post. Vintage lines are such a treasure, just as is your beautiful china. I have some of the same memories when I was a child. I used to love it when my mother would let me help set the table, and it was so special to use the pretty china.

Welcome to Pink Saturday! I love old tablecloths, too. I have one from my mom and one from my MIL and I treasure them both. Your china is also lovely! What fun it must be when you find a new piece to add to you collection.

Here's hoping your computer gliches are fixed---doesn't it make you crazy? It does me cuz I usually need help!

Rschelle, your story about your mom's tea set is so sweet. I can see why that would be a special time in your memory. The tea set is beautiful. Your table cloth is the perfect thing to use with the tea set. Roses, whats not to love?

Thinking pink is fun.

If you take a look at my blog take the time to go to my very first post it has the history of my pre-civil war farmhouse. Great before and after.

Oh pretty! I have special teacup-and-china memories from the days when my great-grandma was alive (she died when I was 26). She always sat us in the dining room with real china and real tea (no hot chocolate on her teatime table -- that was a bedtime drink). I loved it! Your sweet post brought that memory flooding right back. Thanks so much. : )

p.s. Lovely tablecloth, too.
