Cindy at My Romantic Home is our gracious host of "My Favorite Things"...Pay her a visit and check out other bloggers' favorite things...
Here is one of mine...
It's a Christening Gown. I, as well as my two daughters were Christened in this gown. It was made for me.
Notice the hand embroidery...This detailing is also on the skirt of the gown but I was unable to get a good shot of it.
This is the underskirt...
The gown...
And cap. The embroidery was never completed on this. I've thought about having someone "finish" it, but that's all I've done...just "think" about it.
Remember that half the joy of achievement is in the anticipation.

Oh! How lovely!!!
What a beautiful dress and a wonderful family heirloom to pass down. I bet you were a living doll in it, as were you daughters.
Have a great Sunday.
Hugs;
Alaura
Your christening gown is amazing. I would leave it just the way it is. A perfect heirloom.

How beautiful and the memories of your own daughters wearing this gown on a very special day.

Hi, my sweet bunny rechelle, I'm sooo thrilled you dropped by to visit with me!!!!! That little christening gown is beautiful and I have a tablecloth exactly like that rose one of yours, but sadly I cut into it for a pillow. The pillow was gorgeous though! I doubt if I'd ever do that again however. I'd really love to have that tablecloth now!! Anyway, let's exchange links and you'll get more traffic and they'll be able to see your lovely blog as I did. Okay, sweetpea?????
Smoochies,
Connie
Ooooooh, and which "citrus groves" do you live in - west or east U.S.A?!?!?!
It is truly a lovely and sweet gown.
Simply beautiful!
That's beautiful!!! What a treasure that is to have.
take care,
Dawn
How beautiful the dress is and so many sweet memories. Thanks for stopping by. Always enjoy hearing from you :)
Warmly, Deb
Just found your blog - I truly enjoyed my visit here! I thought I was the only other person on Earth who owns the "Old Ways Rediscovered" book in your blog banner! Love Cookie! I'd love you to visit me! Go to my June 3rd post and see a vintage roses tablecloth I recently made into a quilt. Looks almost like yours! From Cookie to collections, roses to remodeling, a truly fun visit here!
Oh my goodness, how lovely & how special!

Beautiful! What a special thing to pass down!
Beautiful! Isn't it neat you were all able to wear it? We have one like that in our family too. Not as detailed as yours though. Sweet little bonnet as well.
