Yay! It's time for Show & Tell Friday which is so graciously hosted by Kelli @ There is no place like home. Be sure to pay her a visit and see who else is "showing" today!
Today I'm sharing the second shelf of my china cabinet. I've always loved this set of tea cups and saucers. There isn't much I can say about it except that it came from a great aunt. I can remember my mother sipping her coffee in them and she'd let me sip my hot cocoa from them from time to time.
If our neighbor, Miss Shiela happened to come by, an afternoon tea was served and mom would use this set sometimes. Miss Shiela would never sip out of a regular mug as she was a prim and proper English lady. It was she who showed me "how" to "take" tea...with a bit of sugar a dollop of cream. I still enjoy it this way to this day.
The crystal pieces are from Princess house and I inherited them when mom passed. The tea pot is mine and I've had it for about ten years now. The plate behind the crystal tea pot was found at the thrift store. I paid fifty cents for it.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope your day will be great!
Remember that half the joy of achievement is in the anticipation.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment Rechelle - just wanted to let you know he is made of pottery, with tiny little mosiac coloured tiles attached, then glazed over. If you get a chance have a look here to see the real thing in action! If you're ever in Barcelona be sure to go and see him!!
What a lovely post. I enjoyed reading about how your prim and proper neighbor insisting on drinking tea the "right" way! :)
What beautiful teacups! I have a thing for things with a past, too.
Thank you for stopping by my blog. As to your question about stains in my napkins, well I try to use darker napkins when I know we are having BBQ sauce or tomato sauce. Other than that, I let the stains happen. Shout Advance works really well, though, and not too many stay stained. However, that is why we have everyday napkins and company napkins!
All of your china collection looks great!! You have it displayed nicely.. thanks for sharing. Baba
