Show & Tell Friday 1/30

Hip Hip Hoo-Ray! It's time for Show & Tell Friday! S&TF is graciously hosted by Kelli @ There is no place like home. Be sure to stop by and see who else is "showing off".

This is a vintage 1950's ice cooler. It belongs to my hubbs and belonged to his uncle before him. It has a "bottle cap opener" on it's side and a spot in the back where you can drain the water. Inside it's all metal and still has the original "sandwich tray". I use this to store magazines.

Check this out! Jen over at the Candlelit Cottage awarded me with these two great awards. Thanks Jen!!! She's a new blogfriend that I'm so glad to have met.
Thanks for stopping by and spending a bit of your day with me.

I remember those!!! Wow...you have a great treasure there. And the fact that it belongs 'in the family' is even more precious. [instead of finding it at an antique shop, that is]

Excellent show n tell. Mine's posted, I do hope you can stop by and visit with me sometime today. Happy Friday.

Thank you for the post that sent me down memory lane. Loving Coke like I do I own one of these coolers to and it lives on my summer porch. The memory is the day I bought it while antiquing with my Dad, who has gone to heaven now, and I can close my eyes and remember the day. And he took me out for Chinese food too. Thank you so much for my smiles about this as someone said something not very nice to me this morning and I have been tearful and you turned the sad tears to happy ones.
Have a Great Friday!

Vintage Coke stuff is so much fun!! We have a free standing Coke cooler from the 50's but it is stowed in a friends garage for now!! We need a rec room to put it in. It still works, too!
Thanks for sharing it, Rechelle!!
Blessings,
Becky

blast from my past, my grandparents owned these, I think my mom still has it, somewhere!

That is a clever use for the cooler. Practical and non-damaging. Far better than a corner of the garage or basement where it would rust unhappily away.

That's a great cooler, brought back memories, and "A Summer Place" was playing while I was reading your S&T! Perfect! I like that you use it for mags now!

I love your cooler...you don't see many around and when you do they are so messed up. How fun to keep magazines in it...great conversation piece too.

That is so cool. My great uncle ran an old country store when I was a kid. He had an old Pepsi cooler with the water in it. I used to love getting a bottle of ice cold pop out of it in the summer. Sweet memories.

Love the cooler! Do you guys collect coke memorabilia? This would be a perfect item for it. I enjoyed your awards also. How nice to receive them and share them with us :). Thanks for the post.

You are always welcome in The Shadow of the Cross. Feel free to visit anytime.

Rechelle, thanks so much for stopping by...don't know about you but it's probably a good thing my hubby has good sense when it comes to me wanting "just one more". If it weren't for him, I would have so many critters in this tiny little cottage, there wouldn't be room for people...just have a soft spot in my heart for animals - always have!

I'm loving your vintage Coke cooler! What a great piece of memoribilia! It's even better that it's a vintage piece from your family! That's awesome!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Rechelle, just one more thing...

As I sit here tonight, tears are streaming down my cheeks! I read the eulogy you wrote for Bailey and it is so touching...straight from your heart. I could feel your pain. Bless your heart.

My name is pronounced "Michael", but it's spelled Michal (one of David's wives, Jonathan's sister, Saul's daughter).
