Coming home after school and smelling the scents of another meal cooked with mom's love was my fortune as a child...seeing her fuss around the meal she was preparing and hustle about the kitchen is a memory I can see in my minds eye with a gentle clarity. From the oven to the table...dinner was served.
Perhaps it's my memories that make this so special. Perhaps it's the beauty in it's simplicity. I'm always on the hunt for pieces that have gone missing, for pieces that had the misfortune of breaking(which is a rarity), and for pieces to add to my growing collection. It's not fancy, it's not worth thousands of dollars, but it's a must have for me and I use it almost daily. Hmm, I just had a realization:
My name is Rechelle, and I'm a Corningware-a-holic *sigh* I mean seriously. Who can't love Corningware?
It's versatility-from stove top or oven straight to the table.
It's practicality-cookware that can double as serving dishes PLUS it looks great!
and last but not least...
It's charm-aww, what a cute little blue cornflower And to think that wayyyy back in 1957 a lab mistake was all it took and the introduction of CORNINGWARE hit consumers the following year.
My favorite kind of collectible is one that I can use...and use them, I do.
