A couple of days ago we had a summer storm. There was the usual showers, thunder and lightning. It was actually a welcome storm as we don't get very many around here. As I was sitting in my kitchen I happened to look out the window and saw a lightning bolt strike the power grid just a few blocks away. You guessed it. Our power went out and was out for about two hours. Unfortunately when I tried re-starting our computer, it just wouldn't :0(. I've reset it as well as it's switch and the best it will do is power up, begin to set up Windows and then it suddenly just stops running and goes dead. Obviously there is a problem of sorts and I don't know what it is. I won't be able to take it to the repair shop until next week. So, I"m here but I may not be posting much for a while.
I hope everyone is doing okay.

On no Rechelle!
I'm so sorry. I do hope your weekend goes well.
I'm sorry to. That is such a frustration. Hope to see you soon.
Aw what a bummer. Glad you're ok! Hope everything's fine.
All the best,
Allison
When we were in Fresno last week, there was a severe thunderstom there on Thursday night. That would be May 28th when that happened. We went out watched it from under that canopy thingy that most hotels have.
So sorry to hear this! Hope all is well otherwise!
Hi Rechelle,
Big bummer...once lightening hit the neighbors house and it affected us too!!! It recked the computer at that time...insurance covered it...
Hope you'll be back soon.
Warmly,
Deb :)
Lighting is very dangerous and a small child at a baseball game was hit the other day near here and didn't survive. I always unplug my laptop from the wall when I know thunderstorms are near. I lost a full sized computer like that once. It was off and just plugged but the surge was so high it took it out. All I got when I turned it on was a black screen and a blinking cursor. My brother said it was 'fried' and couldn't revive it at all.
Hope you're back up and running soon. xxoo
That's terrible and I know it is inconvenient.
I should probably hope for a power outage so I can get things done!
Hang in there,
Laura
Oh no...I hope you get it fixed soon w/ very minor problems!!!
Sure hoep you get that puter fixed soon. WE miss you!
Oh dear, that sounds dreadful! Doesn't Mother Nature realize how much some of us need the our computers?
I sincerely hope that you're able to get everything up and running again as soon as possible.
Fingers crossed & big hugs,
♥ Jessica
I hope it is a simple fix, but then again, with computers nothing ever seems simple.
Hoping you'll be back soon and wishing you the best of life offline until then.
We have had nine days of thunder showers or "dunder" as Miss Cakes calls it. I never thought about turning off the computer but that is a good idea. I hope what ever is wrong is simple and inexpensive.

Oh no was it on a power strip? I am always afraid that may happen.
Hope you can get it fixed soon and it isn't too expensive.
That's my biggest fear about lightening...my poor computer could become a causality. I hope that it is nothing major.
take care,
Dawn
I hope your able to figure out your computer woes! This is a good reminder for all of us to "un-plug" during thunderstorm season!
Oh no, I hope it is an easy fix!

Oh honey...sorry. Been there. One time my daughter was on th phone during a bad storm...the lightening came through the phone line and the phone flew out of her...she was very lucky. Unfortuately our modem fried at the same time...
Good Luck!
Susie
