Blue Monday 2/23 & If The Shoe Fits...

It's Monday and you know what that means? It's time for Blue Monday. Hosted by her graciousness herself... Sally @ Smiling Sally. Be sure to pay her a visit and check out who's doing it in blue today :0)

I know I've shared the corningware (love it), but someone please explain to me, when did my Pyrex become "vintage"? LOL! This is actually a piece I was gifted back in 1984. It was part of a nesting set, but alas, all these years later this is the only one that remains. That's what happens when you live in an earthquake zone. This lovely little blue gem happens to be my cereal bowl :0). Crazy to think that it's 25 years old! Gotta love the Pyrex! Gotta love the Corningware!

Thank you for the visit! May the rest of your day be great!

Sweet Kathy over at Mimi's Garden is a lovely and wonderful bloggerina whom I've loved getting to know. She's kind, creative (check out her latest post!) shares wonderful thoughts and recipes too! She awarded me the...If the Shoe Fits, Wear It! Award: Finding the Heart and “Sole” of Friendship. Thank you so much Kathy! You made my day!!!
I'd like to give this award to some of my fellow bloggerinas.

1. Donna @ Simplicity Cottage
2. Tracy @ A comfy Little Place of my Own
3. Heidi Pocketbook @ Bargain Hunting In The Corn
4. Lilly @ Lilly Loves

You'll love them all!

Hi chickie, time to come and see what you've got for Blue Monday! I like the colors of the old pyrex ware and I DO have some of that Corning ware also. It's what I cook our macaroni and cheese in and it's our most beloved dinner....... Hah

Hi Rechelle,

Thank you so much for the award! I have some blue Pyrex as well, I got 2 sets of 3 bowls as a wedding gift 24 years ago and 5 of them still survive. I broke one by trying to warm a bottle in it on top of the gas burner as a 20-year old mom. One of many lessons learned along the way!

I especially love Pyrex. Hope you are having a good day.

I have the same corning ware that belonged to my grandmother. I love it! The Pyrex bowl is pretty :) Hmmmm, it's vintage now huh? I'd hate to see what in my house (besides DH and me) is now vintage LOL!

take care,
Dawn

Hi Rechelle!

That you SO much for the award. It's my second ever, and second of the day so I'm really really honored!

I have the really large and shallow covered Corningware casserole that matches yours--didn't have a set, just got the single as a wedding gift. I also have a rainbow of pyrex and corningware colors from the 80's thru the 2000's...

Have a good evening and a good Blue Monday as well☺

MOrning, Rechelle! Oh, I love your little blueness. I have the first corning ware bowl and lid. Pyrex, I miss mine! Good dishes, aren't they?
Congratulations on your awards!
Mother is doing a lot better. She was able to go to church yesterday for the first time in two months. She felt like a celebrity! lol Thanks, Dear One, for asking.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I have the same Corningware but don't recall ever seeing that blue Pyrex or I would have wanted it too.

Vintage just means lovely and well cared for, right? Surely it has nothing to do with age since age is just a number. :)

Thank you for the award you sweet girl!! Pyrex is vintage?? LOL
Have a great day!!

My mom always used her corningware. Everyone had some, and I unfortunately do not own any of it. I did, but when we moved to a smaller home and didn't cook as much I gave it away....ahhhh
BTW...That's my pretty shoe award. It looks good on you.

Hi Rochelle
Don't you just love Corning...especially "vintage"? I remember having the lovely cornflower corningware and somewhere along the way...I don't seem to have them any longer.
I just love them.

I too have some but not all of my Pyrex dishes....hmm I think one of them is at my grand daughter... and it is one I really like. I am not sure about things becoming vintage in my lifetime.

Have a Wonderful Day!

I still have both Corningware and Pyrex that we received as wedding gifts. But I have also accumulated some that was my MIL's too. My bowls have a different pattern than your and are brown and beige. I like your blue better. Happy Blue Monday!

1984 was 25 years ago? Oh my where have I been for these 25 years? I too have some of those "vintage pieces". They are a nice blue and go with a lot of other things.

Yes, I love Corningware...I have some just like yours! Happy Blue Monday!

Maybe they call it "vintage" because it's got the original cornflower design on it?

Beats me... I never could figure out fashion. So I quit trying.

Hey Rechelle,
Stop by for 2 awards I am giving you. They are on my "Boogers" blog. :o)

I love your cereal bowl. Mine is the same size/shape, but red.

I'm just LOL about your "vintage" bowls. I have some of the same vintage pyre I got when we married in 1975. Does that mean we're vintage? Oh dear.

Thanks for the visit!

Rechelle,

I wanted to say that the blue Corningware brought back so many memories from when I was younger and then I read that everyone remembers also! Lol! :-)

I remember my mother buying new sets a few times because a piece or the glass lids would break. We didn't have quakes unless you consider myself and my 6 siblings tearing through the house!!

Love your post!

Loved seeing your "vintage" Pyrex items. I have those same ones which I got as wedding gifts a few years before 1984, and I still use them all the time. But then I guess I'm pretty "vintage" myself! Great Blue Monday post.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I always try to be so prompt with returning comments, but it doesn't always happen. :-(

Thanks for stopping by my blog. And a belated Happy Blue Monday. Hope you are doing well. I'm off to look around your blog a little bit.

I have some Corning ware just like this in two sizes. I use them all the time. They're great to cook veggies in the microwave. I used to steam them - now I nuke them. Much faster.

Oh- 1984 doesn't seem that long to me either! I had a different set, and it's packed away in the basement somewhere. I loved it! Perfect sizes and great for those casseroles at the time!
