Hello Again!

Hi everyone!
It's been a long hiatus but it was one I needed to take. I know for many saying good bye to a pet isn't that tough, but it hit me harder then I expected. I think because it brought back memories of family I've lost as well. I admit, I went into a bit of a funk, but I'm fine now :0). I'm back to my old self and remembering all the happy times and why Christmas was and is so special. I hope everyone had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and that the New Year welcomes us all with much happiness, prosperity and health.
I can just imagine how busy all of you have been (me too!) and must say THANK YOU to all who left me such wonderful messages.
I've missed everyone and will start playing catch up this weekend. But first! I must take down my tree. It's so dry :0(. It was ready to be pulled down over a week ago but I wanted to have a tree up for Christmas day. We really ran our heater much more then usual. It's been extremely cold here (for us warm bloods, it's been frigid!) and the heat was going on and off all day. Sadly, my wonderful tree couldn't stand it. So today, I'm packing away all the wonderful ornaments until next year. I suggested (to the family) that we buy a faux tree...you'd think I suggested I cut off my own limb judging my the looks of horror that crossed their faces! LOL!
Well, I"m off to clean up, pack and prepare for New Year's. Hugs to you!

Welcome back. You were missed, but you needed that time away. I totally know what you mean having lost a dear one of our own. Dogs and cats are family too.

I also have a fake tree as it's too hard for my sisters to help me get a real one anymore. I'm just as happy with it.

Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! xxoo

Hi Rechelle and I'm glad you're back feeling like yourself again. I know, it's hard. I remember way back in time when we had a 'live' tree and the next summer I was still finding 'needles' in the carpet! We crossed over many moons ago to an artificial tree and just love it.
Welcome back to the Land of Blog!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Rechelle ~ glad you're doing better. Saying good-bye to a pet is very hard...they bring such wonderful joy, but it seems so short.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

Welcome Back.
I missed you while you were gone. I too started taking down the decorations yesterday. I usually leave them up but I just felt like cleaning it all up. We are cold too. Brrr! Pile on the flannel. Hugs to you too Rechelle.

Loss of a beloved is so very difficult and tends to linger for a very long time- never really leaves entirely, that loss...especially on such as Bailey. Seems I have an easier time letting people go but not pets- their love is so pure. There is nothing one can say or do but I will tell you to burst into tears when you bloody well feel like it, it's OK...I totally understand as would anyone who has ever been loved by furry children...
Cheers- thoughts are with you and the tears are streeming down my face.

Glad you're feeling better. It took my husband such a long time to get over Clive our very first dog together and our first greyhound. Now we've got three!

Hi Rechelle, glad to hear you are feeling better. Losing a animal is like losing a part of your family. Especially when something like that happens around Christmas time. My father died on Christmas eve 4 years ago and it is taking a while to get over that one. Christmas Eve was my favorite day of the year, why that day was picked, it just really ticks me off. Any ways, has it been cold or what? It has been getting down to the lower 30s and my Coleus and Impatiens plants look like black freezer burn lettuce...As soon as it warms up I will go out and pull them all out. It is suppose to be 75 degrees tomorrow! I got the new Burpee Seed Catalog in the mail the other day, I can't wait for spring! Happy New Years!
Love, Ann

Rechelle, Glad you are back....I so know how you feel. Nothing can prepare you or replace a lost pet. I'm starting the taking down ritual on my tree and decorations. Let's look forward to a new year and new adventures and wonderful memories!!!!

It is tough losing a pet...VERY tough. We lost one last year in mid-December and it cast a pall over the holiday season. It does get better with time, and it makes me glad I've taken so many photos of our pets over the years. We can remember their good times with our family!

I'm glad that you are feeling better. I haven't had a pet for a while but I do remember the pain of loosing one!

I bought a fake tree three years ago and it was the best thing I've done in years!! I love having no tree to dry up and no needles to clean up as well.

My wishes for a wonderful new year are extended to you as well!!

take care,
Dawn
